Questions, answered
Honest answers, including what this tool can't do. (This page ships valid FAQPage schema, because we practice what we preach.)
What is “AI Search Readiness” (GEO)?
It's how well your site is structured to be understood, trusted, and cited by AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Claude. Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of improving it: clear entity definitions, answer-style content, structured data, and crawler access.
How is this different from traditional SEO tools?
SEO tools optimize for ranking on a results page. We optimize for being extracted and cited inside an AI answer. And, critically, we don't just measure it. Every issue comes with a copy-paste fix: schema, llms.txt, FAQ and content rewrites.
Will this guarantee that ChatGPT or Perplexity mentions me?
No, and any tool that promises that is lying. AI mentions depend on your overall web presence built over time. What we do is make you eligible: we fix the structural reasons an AI can't understand or quote you, which improves your odds of being cited.
Is llms.txt an official standard?
No. It's a community convention for pointing AI tools at your most useful pages. We generate one because it's low-effort and some tools read it, but we're explicit that it isn't an official search-engine standard.
What does the free scan include?
Unlimited Quick (rules) scans with no account. With a free account: AI deep analysis (one a week) and the full whole-site audit with its prioritized action plan. All the copy-paste fixes are included, and you can export reports to HTML/Markdown and share a link.
Quick scan vs AI deep analysis: what's the difference?
Quick scan is deterministic rules only: instant, free, no AI cost. AI deep analysis adds the AI layer: the visibility snapshot, content rewrites, prompt coverage and tailored recommendations. Without an AI key, everything gracefully falls back to the rules engine.
Do you store my site's data?
We fetch publicly available pages, like any crawler. Anonymous reports are saved only to power shareable links. If you create an account, we store your email, a securely hashed password, and the reports you run so you can revisit them in your history. We never ask for your site's credentials.
Which AI crawlers do you check?
We check robots.txt access for GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, Googlebot, Bingbot and CCBot, because if those are blocked, none of the other fixes can help.
